You can access network file shares directly from the Android Downloads/Files app. This app extends the built in File Manager to support connecting to SMB file shares. You can download and upload your files from your device once the connection has been set up. The app doesn't support browsing your local network for shares yet, so you will have to type the full URI (e.g. smb://server/data).
